Jim Shedd is a 30 year veteran of both State of Florida and Federal Law Enforcement agencies. After serving in the U.S Army (Vietnam 69-70) he began his law enforcement career with the State University Police at Florida International University, where he also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
He joined the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), as a Special Agent, in September of 1983 and retired in January of 2005. During his 21 year career in the DEA his assignments included Miami, and Dallas. He was then promoted to Supervisory Special Agent and completed assignments in Bogota, Colombia, and Detroit, eventually returning to Miami, where he retired.
During his tenure with the DEA he conducted and supervised, local, national and international complex federal narcotic investigations. These investigations involved closely coordinated professional efforts both within DEA and other law enforcement counterparts of local, state, federal and foreign agencies. He also served as the Public Information Officer for the Miami Field Division utilizing his speaking skills in Spanish and English.
Since 2005 he is the president of Scoba Investigations and makes numerous television appearances on Spanish Television where is he asked for his opinions on Law Enforcement matters.
